• Supporting the development and implementation of problem gambling prevention and responsible gambling communication campaigns.

• Taking the lead on developing relationships with middle and high schools, youth groups, and colleges and universities with the goal of introducing problem gambling and/or responsible gambling to staff and students in an appropriate way for each audience.

• Proactively finding opportunities to staff problem gambling resource tables at events and facilities.

• Researching, creating, and implementing problem gambling educational opportunities engaging multiple audiences in prevention and responsible gambling topics.

Reporting to Adept Educational Institute of Maine’s Director of Operations, the Problem Gambling Services Prevention Coordinator is responsible for contract deliverables and programming under the Problem Gambling Services Contract with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and Maine CDC.

• Develop and coordinate disaster behavioral health activities for Maine CDC.

• Develop, train, exercise, and prepare the volunteer Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team for activation.

• Function as subject matter expert. Provide guidance, trainings, and resources to behavioral health providers and response partners on effectively providing disaster behavioral health support during and following a public health emergency, disaster or mass violence incident.

• Maintain Maine CDC’s Public Health Emergency Operations Center’s (PHEOC’s) capability to effectively identify responder safety and behavioral health risks to mitigate the expected impacts that may be experienced by public health professionals, health care volunteers, emergency responders and communities.

• Develop training materials based on evidence-informed research.

• Demonstrate experience in policy, procedure, and protocol development and writing emergency operations plans.

• Manage volunteers in real-world emergencies or drills and/or exercises.

Reporting to Adept Educational Institute of Maine’s Director of Special Programs, the Disaster Behavioral Health Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the deliverables of the contract for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the focus of which is to coordinate and implement the Disaster Behavioral Health preparedness and response initiatives for Maine CDC as well as prepare and oversee the Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team.
